Similar to the Windows Insider Program to test pre-releases version of Windows 10, the Cupertino computer company has the “Apple Beta Software Program”. The program is meant to let fans and developers get early access to new versions of macOS or iOS and provide feedback to help improve the product. Download and installing macOS Sierra beta on your Mac is straightforward, simply sign up with your Apple ID to the beta program, enroll your device, and install the public beta of the operating system.
What’s new in the macOS Sierra
In the next version of macOS, Apple is finally bringing Siri to the Mac with new capabilities designed specifically for the desktop. In addition, the operating system can help to organize your photos, and shop more securely online with Apple Pay in Safari. macOS Sierra also includes new improvements to bring Apple devices closer together, such as with Auto Unlock that allows you to unlock your Mac using your Apple Watch, and Universal Clipboard let you copy images, video, and text from your iPhone, and easily paste the content on your Mac — or vice versa. You’ll also find improvements on iCloud Drive. In macOS Sierra version 10.12, your Desktop and Documents folder can be automatically stored in iCloud. There are also improvements to make more storage available. When space is running out on your Mac, the operating system can make more room by automatically storing files that you rarely use in the cloud and keeping those files you use every day available on demand. These are just a few of all the new features Mac users can expect to see on macOS Sierra, there are also many more improvements on iTunes, Messages, changes in Safari with Tabs and Picture in Picture, and a lot more. Remember that this is a public beta, meaning that the software hasn’t been finalized, as such it’s not recommended to install the operating system in your primary machine.
