Here’s a closer look to both new Dell’s devices for 2018.
Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 (2018)
This is the first time we’re seeing the Dell XPS 15 with a 2-in-1 form factor, but perhaps what really makes this device unique is the new Intel’s eighth-generation Core H-series processor that integrates AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphics.d Basically, it’s a new chipset that combines the processor, graphics, and memory onto the same module providing discrete level graphics performance, while minimizing the space required inside the device. According to Dell, this new Core H-series processor should give customers a close to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 series graphics performance on the XPS 15 2-in-1. The new convertible comes with either a Core H-series i5 or i7 processor, the option of 8GB or 16GB of memory, 128GB to 1TB SSD for storage, and a 1080p or 4K touch-enabled display. You’ll also find four USB-C ports, two of which includes support for Thunderbolt 3. In addition, there is also a headphone jack, microSD card reader, and support for pen, which you’ll have to buy separately. Another interesting upgrade in the XPS 15 for 2018 is the new keyboard that uses a new mechanism that relies on magnets, which Dell calls “maglev”. The keys continue to be held at the corners, but the magnets underneath are the ones mimicking the click response. This new mechanism allows to improve the typing experience making the keyboard thinner. The 16mm thin convertible laptop starts at $1299.99, and Dell is expected to make it available some time in the spring.

Dell XPS 13 (2018)
Dell also refreshed its XPS 13 line, and now you can pick from two colors. One is black with silver top, and the other is Alpine White woven glass fiber with a stain resistant coding in the inside and rose gold in the outside. The 2018 Dell XPS 13 laptop sports Intel’s eighth-generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor, options of 4GB to 16GB of memory, 128GB to 1TB SSD for storage, and a 1080p or 4K display. According to Dell, the new XPS 13 will perform better than last year model as a result of an improved cool system in the latest refresh. The 13-inch laptop inside a 11-inch frame is 30 percent thinner and lighter at 2.67 pounds than its predecessor. As for ports, you’ll find three USB Type-C ports, and as a result, you’ll lose the USB 3.0 posts, which means that you’ll need an adapter to connect older peripherals. The laptop also includes a microSD card reader, headphone jack, and front-facing camera that supports Windows Hello. Dell claims up to 19 hours of battery life for the 1080p model and 11 hours for the 4K display. The Dell XPS 13 is available immediately at Dell.com and Microsoft retailers, and pricing starts at $999.99 for the based model.
