From Windows 1.0 through the latest Windows 7 has passed over 25 years, a lot of changes and innovations since then, better user interface, greater improvement in security, hundreds if not thousands of new features, and many others. It is impressive how someone can cram over 25 years of history in less than 10 minutes video length. This video, created by Andrew Tail, will demonstrate the processes and user interface upgrades of most of the major Windows versions. To create this demonstration VMware has been used, starting by installing MS-DOS 5.0 as it was required to install Windows 1.0. Doom 2 and Monkey Island video games were also installed to show application compatibility throughout Windows versions. It shouldn’t be a surprise, but I would like to point out that you won’t be seeing Windows ME in this video, I hope you don’t get disappointed! This is a video that, if you are a technology enthusiastic and you have several minutes to spare, you should not miss the opportunity to watch.   To complement this video you might also want to check the history of operating systems infographic.
