Google has also said that the images for Pixel and Nexus 5X / 6P are in carrier testing, which also suggests that over-the-air update is expected to start soon, even for Pixel C and Nexus Player. While Android version 8 is the next major release for the platform, it’s not as significant as previous releases. With Oreo, Google is bringing a small set of features and changes. Some of them include, notification dots on app icons, picture-in-picture mode, better autofill using password and personal information, and support for Android Instant App. In addition, Android Oreo focus on improving battery life by limiting apps working in the background, and it includes redesigned emojis.

Although version 8 of Android has finally arrived, remember that it’ll take for all devices to get it. However, if you don’t feel like waiting, you can always enroll in the Android beta program to get the update earlier.  Google is also working with partners, including with Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony to bring Android Oreo to their devices in the coming months.
