Microsoft is building a new “Split window” feature on Edge that as the name implies allows you to view two tabs in the same window to compare pages side-by-side. It’s similar to how the Snap Assist feature for Windows 11 works, but this feature makes it a little easier to split the screen to compare web pages. Once you enable the feature, a new “Split window” button will appear next to the address bar. When you click the button the page you are viewing will split and then you will be able to select another to split the screen. The feature also updates the tab visuals to let you know the page currently in focus. While in the split mode, you will have some additional controls a the top-right of the page switch between linked and unlinked tabs, open the page in a new tab, or close the current page.
