Firefox 7 was just released and this version brings a lot of improvements and something that many users are going to like, that is a big improvement memory handling. This new version is less memory intense, the usage is now reduced between a 20% and 50%. In other small changes Mozilla also included a shortened URL bar that hides the HTTP:// for all web page addresses, and for those of you that like the full experience, here is a simple solution to show the full URL back.
Get the full URL back in Firefox 7
- While in Firefox 7, in the URL bar, type about:config and click on the I’ll be careful, I promise! button.
- Then in the Filter field, do a search for browser.urlbar.trimURLs
- Right-click and select Toggle or double-click to change the value from true to false — changes are save immediately after the value is modify.
