“Widgets” is the interface that appears when you click the weather icon from the Taskbar, use the “Windows key + Q” keyboard shortcut, or swipe from the left side of the screen to access your personalized feed (news, weather, sports, stocks, etc.). Although the feature might be useful for some, it’s not for everyone since it adds unnecessary distractions. You can remove the button from the Taskbar or adjust the settings to prevent opening Widgets by mistake, but the feature will remain available. If you don’t find Widgets useful on Windows 11, you can use PowerShell to uninstall the feature completely (thanks, Bob, for the tip). (If you change your mind, you can always install it again.) This guide will walk you through the steps to completely remove the Widgets dashboard experience from Windows 11.
