In my opinion with Windows 8 isn’t very practical that manufactures still offer their own software to do something that works perfectly fine to begin with, they just added another unnecessary software layer. One thing worth noticing is that with the latest Microsoft’s OS the “HP Recovery Manager” now offers three types of recovery including: System Recovery, Factory Reset which erases the entire hard drive and restores the PC with the factory image; and surprisingly it also offers the Minimized Image Recovery, which restores only the operating system and drivers — equivalent to a Windows 8 clean install –, something the company faded out after they stopped shipping the restore discs with new computers, but now it seems to be back.
