The HP Elite X3 is not just another Windows 10 smartphone, HP is going all in with hardware and design. The Elite X3 features a 6-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) pixel resolution AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and anti-reflective coating. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core 2.15GHz processor, 4GB of memory, and 64GB of internal storage. In addition, the device also includes a micro SD slot with support for an extra 2TB of secondary storage. HP also embraces the new USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer. There is a 16-megapixel back-facing camera and impressive 8-megapixel front-facing camera — perfect for selfies –. Additionally, it includes an iris scanner and fingerprint reader to support Windows Hello. The HP Elite X3 is IP67 rated, which make the device water-resistant on depth water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. Powerful hardware needs to be powered by a big battery and the Windows 10 Mobile phone from HP includes a 4150mAh battery.

Perhaps one of the most noticeable feature is the fact that it comes with support for Continuum for phones, which allows to transform the device into a PC-like experience using the new Windows 10 universal apps using the Desk Dock that features a DisplayPort to connect an external monitor, alongside 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C ports, and 1 Ethernet port.

In addition, HP has also created the Mobile Extender, an accessory that features a display and keyboard to mimics a laptop experience using wireless technology. “The Mobile Extender has a near-zero bezel with a 12.5-inch diagonal HD display that weighs less than 1000 grams.”

HP is aiming the new smartphone for to business users by touting enterprise-grade security with Windows 10, BitLocker 128-bit encryption, VPN-SSL, and Intune MDM and Reset protection.
