The Maps app powered by Bing will integrate Bird’s eye capabilities and thousands of indoor venue maps. Microsoft is also making updates to the Windows 8 Photos app including rotate and crop support, and new auto-curated collage slideshows. The Weather app will offer hourly forecasts, up to 10 days, high/low temp and more improvements. Finance, News, Travel, Sports, SkyDrive, Calendar, People, Messaging, and Games also will be updated by the time Windows 8 launches at the end of the month. Lastly, users will enjoy a new expanded music service, rich “now playing” experience, and better music discovery with SmartDJ in the Windows 8 Music app, and the Video app will include closed captioning and search by actor or director.
