As support has finally ended, Windows XP wont be getting any updates, although the operating system is affected according to Microsoft bulletins.  The security updates for May’s Patch Tuesday will fix various vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Windows. In this round of updates Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are getting one Critical update for IE 11, and three Important updates. While Windows RT is getting the two Critical updates as well, but only two of the six Important updates.  Microsoft is also extending the grace period and giving users another 30 days to install Windows 8.1 Update. This new extension will allow current Windows 8.1 without “Update” to install May 13th, 2014, Patch Tuesday. For those still on Windows 8.1, it recommended to install the update as soon as possible to avoid being left out from future updates.  But let’s be transparent here, this deadline is only for Windows 8.1 users, Windows 8 PCs aren’t pressured by policy.
