Tips using Microsoft Security Essentials
Do a full scan periodically. Change the Schedule scan to a day and time that you know your computer is turned on. For the best protection, keep the antivirus always up to date. You can do this by going to the Update tab and clicking the big Update button. If you have well-known files and locations, you can exclude them from scanning to save time. When you see the system tray icon with the color green you are good and protected, when it is orange you should check out what is going on, and when is red there could be some serious problems. Most of the configuration can be modified by opening Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and going to the Settings tab.
You can download Microsoft Essential 2 from the official website or if you already have MSE installed, in the Update tab, you will notice the upgrade button, click it and get the latest version!
