To-Do is a modern, intuitive, and straightforward app that allows you to create, organize, and keep track of all your tasks. It doesn’t matter the type of task, you can use To-Do to create a list of anything, grocery shopping list, home projects, work related tasks, etc. If you’ve ever used Wunderlist, Microsoft To-Do should look familiar as the same team designed the new app. The app even includes a handy tool to import your tasks from Wunderlist, which eventually will be discontinued in favor of To-Do.

It includes all your basic features

You can configure each task with due dates and reminders, or set it to recur daily, weekly, month or custom. You can also add notes, and personalize each list you create with a unique theme.

It’s a smart task manager

Perhaps one of the best features is the ability for Microsoft To-Do to help you stay on track of your tasks. As you start your day, the “My Day” list is where you’ll find those tasks that you need to get done. Inside My Day, To-Do also includes a suggestion feature that intelligently surface ideas on the tasks that are more important. You only need to click the lightbulb button on the top-right corner to see tasks from the day before, upcoming, and other suggestions based on how you use the app.

It’s a good start, but it lacks key features

While the new Microsoft To-Do list seems promising, it’s still in preview and a lot of features you come to depend on Wunderlist are not yet included. For example, in this early release, you can’t share a list of to-dos with other people, create sub tasks or folders to group lists. The app doesn’t integrate with Cortana reminders, there is not an option to use a dark theme, or Live Tile support on the Start menu. You can’t create a new task using voice, or attach files to a task. However, Microsoft is planning to bring more Wunderlist features as the development goes on. In addition, the company will also be adding Office 365 integration, including the ability to sync Outlook Tasks with To-Do, but it’ll take a few months before you can try this and other features.
