The new feature was first spotted on Reddit, where a user from the popular social network detailed that after installing the latest Xbox One beta update noticed that Max: The Curse of Brotherhood was offered to him as a free download labeled “Free Play Day with Gold”. The new feature seems to be an addition to the benefits of being an Xbox Live Gold member and it will let Xbox One owners try new selected games for free, but for a limited time of 24 hours. Microsoft has yet to officially comment on Free Play Day, but in response to person’s Tweet, @XboxSupport replied “It’s something that we’re currently looking into. Keep an eye on your Xbox One”.

— Xbox Support (@XboxSupport3) August 20, 2014 Update: According to a new report from Kotaku, Microsoft published the “Free Play Day with Gold” by mistake. Microsoft’s official stated the following: “We accidentally hit publish on an early version of this draft with inadvertently incorrect information. We apologize for the error.” All content on this site is provided with no warranties, express or implied. Use any information at your own risk.
