Apparently because of all hiccups with Windows 8, Microsoft is considering to skip Windows 8.x naming convention and it will use the “Windows 9” name for Threshold to start over fresh. It’s early to tell about the changes and improvements the new OS will bring to users, but there is information that points out to Metro 2.0, which will bring many fixes and improvements to the design language in the latest version of Windows, including the ability for Metro style apps to float of the desktop — like with any desktop application you use in the operating system today.
