The company appears to be working on a small dongle, similar to the Google Chromecast device, to stream Xbox content with support for the Xbox One controller. It’s also likely that the device may also be able to stream Xbox One games from the main console to other devices around the house, similar to the game streaming feature in the Xbox app for Windows 10. Then there is a second device, which according to the report will be a streaming device with more advanced functionality. Originally, Microsoft was planning to release the Xbox TV alongside the Xbox One console, but the plan for the project was taken out of the table. The new device seems to return on the idea of the Xbox TV on a new device based on Windows 10 that could also run the new Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps. Although, it’s said that the Xbox TV will be more powerful than the Chromecast-like device, it will still underpowered to play Halo 5 and other graphic intensive games, but it could be able to handle basic games. However, this device may also include the same capability to stream Xbox One games remotely like is possible in Windows 10. Microsoft is expected to reveal more details on these two new devices during E3 2016, which will happen on June 13th at 12:30PM ET / 9:30AM PT.
