Erin Woo, a member of the product design team at Microsoft, uploaded a short video showing the new filetype icons of Office. As you can see in the video, the new icons are modern and simple, using minimalistic but colorful designs, and it’s easy to determine which application they open by looking at them.

— Erin Woo 胡穎恩 (@wooerin) May 9, 2019 The new filetype icons are slowly rolling out to users, and the iOS version of Outlook is getting them first, with the Android version getting them next. Microsoft also notes that the icons will come to other apps, such as OneDrive, but they will roll out in the future.
