Microsoft’s Omar Shahine announced the new updates in a new article at the Windows Blog. Let’s dive in to the new features:

Improved sharing

SkyDrive provides many ways to share your files — Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, email, or just by creating a link. Now, all the sharing-related info tasks are unified in a single page, very similar to how Windows 8 shows notifications over the page.

Touch improvements

The future is all about touchscreen like we are starting to see more in Windows 8/RT devices. This also makes it a priority for cloud service providers to deliver the same flexibility to perform any task through a web browser with touch as when using a keyboard and mouse. In this update, the software giant has incorporated the ability to select one or multiple items by simply swiping on the file.

Better Drag-&-Drop

In this update, Microsoft is adding drag-and-drop support to the SkyDrive.com interface. Now it really feels like a native app.

The company is also saying that its cloud storage service has a hand full of new improvements that are invisible to the end-users, but they assure that will make the SkyDrive.com experience “faster and more reliable”. You can see all these new updates now by signing in to your account.
