Sony now is indicating that it might follow on the idea. “PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002,” the company said on a statement to GameStop. “We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play.” The response we’re getting from Sony doesn’t directly confirm the company is onboard with developers and Microsoft to support cross-network play, but it sends a strong signal that it’s aware and listening to all possibilities. It’s still early to declare victory, but it’s likely that in a not so distant future PS4 players will be gaming online against Xbox One players. The software giant several days ago announced that Rocket League is among the first game titles to include support for cross-network play. E3 will be happening in June and we may just hear more details in this new initiative and more game titles.
