Microsoft announced the laptop during its Windows 10 Devices event in New York City last October 6th, I got the chance to attend the event and get a closer look of the device, and it’s the ultimate laptop you can buy this year. The new laptop from Microsoft that expands the Surface brand to new devices is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro. You can get it with an up to an Intel Skylake Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage with the discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics. The design of Surface Book is like nothing you’ve seen before, from the beautiful PixelSense display, to the hardware, to the best in class keyboard with a trackpad made out the glass, to the hinge design, which the company calls “dynamic fulcrum hinge”. Perhaps one of the most attractive features is that with a single button, you can remove the display and use the device as a clipboard, but you also have to keep in mind that Surface Book is a laptop first and a tablet second, so in tablet mode you only have between three to four hours of battery life; you will have dock the display back to the keyboard base to reach the claimed 12-hours of battery life.
