Surface Studio gets delayed a few weeks and those who pre-order now will get the new desktop PC sometime in early 2017. Along with the Surface Studio, Microsoft introduce the Surface Dial, which is an accessory that rotates and clicks to access tools and shortcuts in apps, but initially only a handful of apps will support the device. The software giant also published the changes and improvements included in the Surface Book firmware update for October 2016. As October 31st, Microsoft stops selling Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 licenses to PC manufacturers and focus only in Windows 10. Yet another test preview of the Windows 10 Creators Update (build 14959) releases to the Fast ring for those devices enrolled in the Windows Insider Preview program with a new update technology that Microsoft calls Unified Update Platform. Remember that in November 2016 and with an Xbox Live Gold membership, you can download Super Dungeon Bros, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Monkey Island: SE, and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon as part of the Games with Gold program. The Windows 10 Creators Update is launching sometime in March 2017, and while Microsoft has already announced the main features during its press event in New York City, there are a number of other smaller features and improvements that will be part of the update as well.

Help & How-To

This week I added a new tutorial to help you reset your Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3, Surface 3, or (soon) Surface Studio to its factory default settings without using a recovery image. In addition, I also wrote a guide to create a recovery drive that will help you troubleshoot and fix any issues in Windows 10, even if your PC won’t start.
