During the Build developer conference the software giant also showed for the first time the new Start menu — Yes! It’s coming back — that will come to Windows 8.1 later this year as an update. Perhaps the biggest news this week was the announcement of making Windows free for Windows Phone and tablets under 9-inches. This new licensing model will help the company expand its market share on the mobile ecosystem. Also the company revealed universal Windows apps, a new app design model that will run across all platforms including PCs, tablets, phones, and even Xbox One. For the month of April, Microsoft is making 2 new games available for free for Xbox Live Gold members. And the company unveils new Xbox One, SmartGlass, and Xbox Video improvement coming in the next update.
