While the new build includes various improvements to the core for better compatibility with across devices, the software giant notes that the new build doesn’t contain any noticeable features. However, making available a new preview through the Fast ring means that there are some bugs and a number of things that don’t work correctly. For that reason, Microsoft is also publishing the known issues and workarounds that users should be aware before installing build 11082.

Windows 10 build 11082 known issues

Languages packages and Features on Demand will fail to install on this build. Microsoft says is investigating workarounds. When copying, deleting, or moving files there will be no progress bar dialog shown. The file action will complete without intervention. This can cause confusion when acting on larger files or directory. Windows 10 build 11082, application defaults for some applications will be reset. Music and Video will reset to Windows Media Player. This can be reconfigured opening Cortana or Search and searching for “Chose default apps by file types” to open the correct settings page.

While the first build part of the Redstone development doesn’t include many issues, Microsoft has said that starting January, Insiders can expect faster release of new previews, as such we’re expecting to see a lot more bugs and issues.
