The update KB4579311 bumps the version number to build 19042.572, and according to the company, fixes privilege elevation in win32k, issue creating null ports using the user interface, and problem deletion of critical files in alphabetic order from “%systemroot%\systm32” by the Group Policy service. In addition, build 19042.572 also includes security patches for the Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Kernel, Windows Authentication, Windows Virtualization, and Microsoft Graphics Component. Microsoft has previously revealed that it was planning to release version 20H2 in October, and since the company didn’t share any specific date, it was speculated that October 13 could be the official release date, but today, it’s clearly not the case. As a result, this could mean that the feature update for Windows 10 is now likely to release at the end of the month (probably October 27).
