Update KB5001330 for Windows 10 20H2 and 2004

Microsoft has announced KB5001330 on the Windows support site. If you are already running the Windows 10 October 2020 Update or May 2020 Update, this update will address these problems:

Addresses an issue in which a principal in a trusted MIT realm fails to obtain a Kerberos service ticket from Active Directory domain controllers (DC).  Fixes a problem with security vulnerabilities identified by a security researcher. Because of these security vulnerabilities, this and all future Windows updates will no longer contain the RemoteFX vGPU feature.  Addresses a potential elevation of privilege vulnerability in the way Azure Active Directory web sign-in allows arbitrary browsing from the third-party endpoints used for federated authentication. Security updates to Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Apps, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Office Media, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Cryptography, the Windows AI Platform, Windows Kernel, Windows Virtualization, and Windows Media.

You can download the updates to install them manually for versions 20H2 and 2004 from the Microsoft Update Catalog website. The same fixes are also available for version 1909, but as build 18363.1500 (KB5001337). Also, as a reminder, this release will reach the end of support on May 11, 2021, for computers running the Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and Server SAC editions. If you are still in this release, it’s recommended to upgrade to the latest version. Windows 10 version 1809 is also receiving the exact changes, but as update KB5001342 (17763.1879). Similar to version 1909, this release will no longer be supported starting May 11, as such, it is recommended to upgrade to the most recent version (see above link).

Update for older versions of Windows 10

Windows 10 version 1803 has reached the end of support on November 12, 2019, but Microsoft has released the update KB5001339 to fix several issues, and it bumps the version number to build 17134.2145. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) is getting the update KB5001347 to resolve a slew of problems, even though the operating system is no longer available. The update also bumps the version number to build 14393.4350.  Finally, the original release of Windows 10 is getting the update KB5001340. This release increases the version number to 10240.18906 and fixes a bunch of problems, including the same issues found on version 20H2 and 2004.
