The feature looks like users will be able to create folders to organize apps on the desktop rather than in the Start menu. The feature could be similar to the app folders available on Android and iOS. Furthermore, it appears that users would have the option to rename the items like a folder or file on the desktop. As you can see in the screenshot, the desktop includes an app folder called “Social media” that includes access to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. Microsoft recently introduced an early preview of folders in the Start menu, and it would be interesting to see if the app folder feature on the desktop ever makes it into Windows 11. In addition to folders in the Start menu, the company is already planning the release of Windows 11 22H2 with tons of new features and improvements.
