The update releases only days after a secret setting was discovered that enabled high quality streaming on Xbox app, but now it seems that Microsoft had a good reason – it wasn’t just ready. This should be a welcome addition, but Microsoft warns that the new streaming capability will work best when users have a home network that can actually support the bandwidth. According to the company, it will work best on a wired connection or on Wi-Fi network equipped with the technology to handle the speed.

How to setup Xbox app “Very high” level streaming quality

By default, Microsoft sets the quality to game streaming on the Xbox app to “Medium”, as such if you want to change the quality setting to “Very high”, simply open the app, go to Settings, then navigate to Game streaming, and choose your quality level. If things don’t work out, play with the settings; you can always choose “High” and even “Low”.

The new minor update also brings the ability to control party and game notifications on the app. Additionally, you can now add games to your collection, and there is a new option to compare game achievements with friends in your list. The Xbox app update 8.8.15003.00000 is available immediately through the Windows Store, it will update automatically, but you can always go to the Store and try to update manually.
